Frank (Bruce Willis) is retired, tired and lonely, living in an undisclosed suburb of his government pension. The only joy in Frank’s life is a call to the National Pension Processing Center when he arrives to talk to his colleague Sarah (Mary-Louis Parker). Sarah is as boring and lonely as Frank and portrays her conversation with the unknown Frank and her spy novels as just funny things in her life. When something from Frank’s ex-husband forces Frank to return to his former job and puts the unsuspecting Sarah in the middle of a controversy, Frank and Sarah begin Frank’s old journey with the people he worked with.
